OFFICE ATMOSPHERE IS PRESSURISED, BITCHY, BORING OR STRICT, IN HALF OF UK OFFICES – say the staff

17% SAID IT’S ‘EXCITING AND FUN’

Capital Incentives & Motivation Survey paints depressing picture of office life nationwide

Staff working in half of UK offices described the atmosphere at work as either ‘strict’, ‘bitchy’, ‘boring’ or ‘stressful’ in a recent survey by Capital Incentives & Motivation, the leading incentive and motivation specialists.

When questioned about the general atmosphere at their place of work, 6% of office staff around the country described it as ‘fairly strict,’ 24% as ‘pressurised and stressful, 14% as ‘bitchy, backbiting and defensive’ and 7% as ‘dull and boring.’

The worst area of the country apparently is Midlands where 64% were uncomplimentary about their workplace.

However, 23% of respondents nationally described their office as ‘inspiring and good', and a further 17% said it was ‘exciting and fun’.

Overall, 57% of people surveyed said they enjoyed their job ‘most of the time,’ with a further 19% saying they enjoyed it ‘very much.’

Graham Povey, Managing Director of Capital Incentives & Motivation said, "Even though so many staff are unhappy with office life, the majority of UK employees are generally happy with their role."
