Birmingham City Council launches ‘Bin to Win’ with Capital Incentives & Motivation
Birmingham City Council has launched ‘Bin to Win,’ an incentive scheme designed to achieve a cleaner city with less litter and rubbish in the streets, in conjunction with leading incentive and motivation specialist Capital Incentives & Motivation.
To encourage people to use litterbins, members of the public seen using a bin by a network of wardens across the city are issued with a postcard. Recipients simply have to answer a few straightforward questions on the card, fill in their name and address and post it to the pre-printed freepost address to be in with a chance of winning £50 of Capital Bonds vouchers. Every month a card is picked at random and the winner is notified that they have won the vouchers, which can be spent at over 120 famous high street stores from fashion and accessories, home and DIY, leisure and travel to food and drink.
Russell Thompson, Environmental Crime Unit Manager said, “The feedback from the public has been extremely positive and we are already seeing results. An opportunity to win £50 to spend is clearly far more appealing than having to pay a fixed penalty fine for littering.”
