Survey Shows Recipients find 'Recognition' Most Motivating Factor in Incentive Schemes
For recipients the most motivational factors in an incentive scheme are the recognition of achievement (38%), achievable goals (27%) and rewards offering choice (26%), followed by clear communication (14%) and competition between participants (11%).
These are among the findings of a new survey among buyers of leading companies recently carried out by Capital Incentives & Motivation, one of the UK’s leading incentive and motivation specialists.
When asked what their most important consideration is when running an incentive scheme, respondents chose flexibility and ease of use (28%), closely followed by cost effectiveness (27%), a good choice of rewards (24%), ease of ordering and quick delivery of awards (19%) and the latest technology and web based communication (17%).
The survey also found that despite the proliferation of email, only 53% of companies surveyed communicate incentive information by email, while 25% use company intranets and 15% use the internet.
“The results of the survey are very useful for keeping us in touch with our clients’ needs,” says Graham Povey, Managing Director of Capital Incentives & Motivation. “They give a good indication of what clients want and expect from incentive schemes.”
